Spring and Summer Term
We have had a wonderful half-term in Y4/5! We have written some wonderful diary entries, biographies and autobiographies. In Maths, we have been exploring fractions, decimals and percentages and used our skills to take part in World Maths Day.
In Science, we have been taking part in lots of experiments. We celebrated British Science Week by setting up different investigations based around 'growth' and plants. In Y4 we have explored sound and learnt about how sound travels. In Y5, we have explored different forces, including gravity and water resistance.
Spring Term
We have had a great Spring term. We have started to go swimming this term and have enjoyed our outdoor P.E sessions focussing on adventurous activities. In English, we have written a fantastic story, as well as diary entries. We've enjoyed our Science experiments this term, focussing on solids, liquids and gases.
We've been busy in our art lessons too, using clay and other materials. Our active Maths sessions outside have been great fun too. We are really looking forward to the next half-term.
Autumn Term
We've had another fantastic half-term in Y4/5. In English, we've written some amazing mystery stories, as well some great balanced arguments and debates. We've enjoyed our Art lessons which included making our own pots and jewellery. In History, Y4 have explored the royal family and learnt lots about different kings and queens throughout history. Y5 spent time learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and the Iron Age.
We've spent this term developing our tag rugby skills and enjoyed taking part in matches against one another. We had a very interesting visit from a theatre company who helped us to learn about pollution and ways to help to look ater our planet. We've enjoyed taking part in different Christmas activities this term and are looking forward to coming back next term.
Autumn Term
We have had a lovely term in Y4/5. We have written some wonderful stories inspired by The Iron Man as well as The Nowhere Emporium. We have enjoyed learning about different habitats in Science and the life cycles of different creatures. We have been very creative in our art lessons and have enjoyed developing our Geography skills in topic lessons. In P.E, we have become excellent hockey players and have really enjoyed using our skills in matches. We have also welcomed some new visitors to our class with the arrival of our stick insects!
Welcome Back!
We've had a great first week back in school. We have really enjoyed our English work where we have started to write our own versions of The Iron Man. We've also enjoyed developing our hockey skills in P.E and can't wait to start playing matches against one another. It's been great working together as a team again!
