Autumn Apple Crumble - today we have been making a seasonal dish of apple crumble. We weighed out the ingredients, peeled the apples and made the crumble with our fingers. Everyone had great fun making their crumble and we are all very excited to eat it!
Today the remaining Year 5/6 children and Year 2 have teamed together to make some bats to send to West Midlands Safari park as part of their World Record attempt.
Starry Night Display work - we are preparing our contribution for the corridor display this week by creating 'A Starry Night' by Van Gogh. We've used a variety of different media such as sewing, chalks, pastels and collage.

Birds Beaks testing - We continued to look at how animals adapt to their environment by looking at different types of beaks. We used different utensils to simulate different beaks such as tweezers, coins, spoons, chopsticks and tested to see how well they could pick up different 'foods' like rice, marshmallows, raisins and pipe cleaners. We made predictions about which beak would be best and explored how different birds have adapted their beaks to suit their environment.
Science, Art & Writing in Year 5/6 - as part of our learning in Science about the Peppered Moths we used the moth as inspiration to create some abstract poetry using a range of figurative language. We also used a range of art materials to create our own unique moths. We done to everyone for contributing to such a fantastic display of learning!
The Peppered Moth - exploring how animals are suited to their environment and how environmental changes can cause animals to adapt and evolve.
Flanimals - today in science we were learning about inherited characteristics from parents to offspring. We made flanimals and then paired them up to create their offspring and talked about the characteristics they inherited from each parent.
